Manage your connections
A connection links you to one connector. The Connector Gateway serves a connector's tools to your MCP clients only after you connect to it, and you decide which of its tools stay on. Your connections and tool choices apply to every client that signs in to the gateway as you.
Manage your connections in the console's user experience. If you also have administrator access, open the account menu and choose User under Experience. Then select Connectors under Gateways.
Connect to a connector
The Tools tab lists the connectors your administrator has granted to you. Connectors you've connected to appear under Enabled, and the rest appear under Available.
- Open a connector under Available and select Connect.
- If the connector's Access section shows Company SSO required, complete the sign-in in the window that opens. The gateway stores the resulting credential and uses it for your calls to that connector.
Connectors that need no sign-in, shown as No authentication required or Managed credential, connect immediately.
The connector's status badge then shows Connected, and its tools appear in your MCP clients the next time they list tools.
Choose which tools your clients see
A connector's detail page lists its tools in a Tools section, grouped into Destructive tools, Read-only tools, and Other tools. Turn off any tool you don't want your clients to call, or use Disable all on a group.
Your choices narrow the tools your administrator grants you. The gateway hides the tools you turned off from your clients and rejects calls to them.
Pause or disconnect
The Connection card on a connector's detail page has two ways to stop using a connector:
- Pause hides the connector's tools from your clients and keeps your tool choices. The badge shows Paused, and Resume restores the connector with the same tools. You can edit tool choices while paused; they apply when you resume.
- Disconnect removes the connection and your tool choices, and moves the connector back to Available.
Reconnect when sign-in expires
When the credential for a Company SSO required connector expires or is no longer usable, the badge shows Reconnect required and the connector's tools stop working. Select Reconnect and complete the sign-in again.
An administrator change to the connector's identity provider, such as new scopes or a new client ID, also requires you to reconnect. See How users authorize connectors.
When changes take effect
The gateway reads your connections on every request, so connecting, pausing, and tool changes apply to your next tool list or tool call. Most MCP clients keep the tool list from when they connected. If a client still shows old tools, refresh its tool list or restart it.
Review your usage
The Usage tab summarizes your own tool calls for the last 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days, broken down by connector. It stays empty until your administrator turns on tool call recording. See Record tool calls.
Next steps
- Roll out gateway clients to connect an MCP client to the gateway.
- Review tool usage to review tool calls across your organization.
Troubleshooting
A connector you expect isn't listed
The Tools tab shows only connectors your administrator granted to a group you belong to, and only while the connector is in service. If you see "No connectors available to you yet", ask your administrator to check the connector's connector policy.
